In return to NCAA baseball tournament, Terps relish ‘big stage’

After spending 11 consecutive days on the road wrapping up the regular season and playing in the Big Ten tournament, the Maryland baseball team returned to College Park from Minneapolis late Sunday night, still unsure of its NCAA tournament fate. About 12 hours later, the team could exhale while watching the selection show at Looney’s Pub near campus, where it learned that it was a No. 3 seed in the Los Angeles Regional and will begin its four-team, double elimination sub-bracket with a game vs. No. 2 seed Ole Miss on Friday night.

There were little signs of fatigue as the team got back to work Tuesday, returning to practice after a whirlwind weekend.
