ODU Tops Herd Again, Marshall Women Lose 7th In A Row

HUNTINGTON — It wasn’t from lack of effort, and it wasn’t just one thing because Coach Matt Daniel would change that. No, it was a lackluster third quarter that leads to Old Dominion sweeping the Herd in this basketball season by winning the rematch at the Cam Henderson Center on Thursday night, 94-85. Marshall falls to 12-15 with three regular season games to play, 4-11 in Conference USA with the seventh consecutive loss in league play. ODU improved to 15-11 overall, 10-5 in C-USA.

Marshall has one home game left on Saturday when Charlotte comes in for “Senior Day” for Talequia Hamilton (who is trying to get a year back to return next season), Kiana Evans (a true four-year player) and for McKenzie Akers (a redshirt junior who’s knee is hurting too much to come back for the fifth-year, after missing all of 2016-17 due to knee surgery).
