Former Oregon State football commit Shurod Thompson enrolls at Marshall

Shurod Thompson, a highly touted safety who signed with Oregon State last year, has enrolled at Marshall, MU sources say.

His status for the fall is unclear at this time.

Thompson, listed by Oregon State as a 6-foot-1, 190-pound resident of Antioch, California, signed last February with the Beavers but announced in April he would not be attending school in Corvallis.

He was rated the No. 7 safety prospect by 247Sports, and at one time held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas and others. Academic concerns kept several programs away, however.

He was eligible for just four games after a transfer his senior year, but was named to the Semper Fidelis All-American Game, and played for the U.
