Many a college sports coach will tell you that recruiting is the lifeblood of a program, and Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski and his staff kept that lifeblood flowing on Tuesday when they offered a scholarship to Class of 2019 point guard D.J. Carton.
Please do not give D.J. Carton a bunch of static on Twitter about the “University of Marquette” thing, okay? Cool? Cool. Cool cool cool.
Carton hails from Bettendorf, Iowa, which I just realized sticks out in my mind as the hometown of mixed martial arts fighter and trainer Pat Miletich.
