Both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are expected to make wholesale changes for this week’s derby in the EFL Cup.

Manchester City travel to Old Trafford in the last 16 on Wednesday night with Guardiola looking to beat old foe Mourinho there for a second time in two months.

But neither manager feels he can afford to send a first-team XI out, even allowing for the intense rivalry.
