Manchester City preparing to make £25m bid for West Brom's former United defender Jonny Evans as Baggies target Kevin Wimmer

West Bromwich are braced for a bid of up to £25million from Manchester City for centre back Jonny Evans.

City’s £18m bid was rejected, with Albion manager Tony Pulis is anxious to keep Evans and strengthen his defence by signing Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer for £15m.

Evans missed the opening win over Bournemouth with a hamstring injury and is set to be ruled out of Saturday’s trip to Burnley.
