BATON ROUGE, La. – Funny how much a coach’s popularity can change in a short time frame.
In the fall of 2013, Lane Kiffin’s rising star abruptly fell when he was messily fired from his post as USC coach after a loss at Arizona State. From a wee-hours firing at Los Angeles International Airport to now, he has done an awful lot to resurrect his image.
So much so that the 41-year-old Alabama offensive coordinator (who doesn’t look anywhere close to that age) may have to make a tough choice about his future soon.
Kiffin is, without a doubt, LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s first target for the Tigers’ offensive coordinator position as a new regime begins to form in Baton Rouge.
