As season openers go, LSU getting the 2015 campaign rolling this year against McNeese State might not move the needle a whole lot for the Tiger fans.
After all, this season marks only the second time since 2009 that LSU isn't bracing for a power-five showdown to open things up -- four of those against ranked foes and none of them at home.
Starting with 2009, the Tigers have traveled to Washington, met North Carolina in Atlanta, faced Oregon at Cowboys Stadium and taken on TCU and Wisconsin in Texas the last two years.
Lots of pomp, circumstance and sizzle with those games.
