Jared Poche ties LSU career wins record by doing something different

OMAHA, Neb. -- The last two times Jared Poche started with a chance to tie the LSU career record for wins, he didn't. Saturday provided something different.

The senior left-hander came out of the bullpen with LSU facing a one-run deficit in the seventh inning of a College World Series game against Florida State. His 2-2/3 scoreless innings helped LSU earn a 5-4 victory at TD Ameritrade Park.

That win accounted for the 38th of his LSU career, which tied him with Scott Schultz, who pitched for the Tigers for four seasons from 1992-95.

"Obviously been thinking about it all year and been hoping that it would happen the last two weeks," Poche said.
