LSU coach Les Miles has earned plaudits for his action in the wake of tragedy in Baton Rouge, and former Tigers running back Jacob Hester isn’t surprised that his coach has tried to keep things on an even keel.
A short time after being hired at LSU away from Oklahoma State, Miles had to help his team endure the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Hester told GN earlier this week that his coach handled the team perfectly back then.
“He didn’t try to make it about football, like a lot of coaches would,” Hester said. “A lot of coaches would have maybe tried to say that, ‘All this is going on and we’ve got to really focus on football and focus more than we normally would.
