On Wednesday April 26, LMU beach volleyball duo junior Sarah Sponcil and freshman Savannah Slattery were given the highest honors the West Coast Conference (WCC) can offer. Sponcil was awarded WCC Player of the Year and Slattery won the coveted WCC Freshman of the Year award. The pair is the best LMU has to offer with the record of 20-9 together this season. The duo are currently on a five game win streak, winning nine of their last 10.
Sponcil and Slattery have been performing at a high level since the fall, during the indoor volleyball season. The pair have been dominant, competing with some of the best duos in the country and beating them.
