Ingram Resets Career-High In Loss to Spurs

After getting taught a few lessons by one of the NBA’s MVP candidates in the first half, rookie Brandon Ingram tested his mettle in the second.

With the final result already secure, Ingram nonetheless found a new level to his offense, scoring a career-high 22 points in the Lakers’ 119-98 loss to Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite playing what head coach Luke Walton felt was “decent” defense, Ingram found himself being cooked by Leonard in to open up the game.

The All-Star starter — who came in averaging about 30 points in his last six weeks — went to work from the opening tip, scoring 16 points in the first quarter alone, even when Ingram was able to get a hand in his face.
