KENNER, La. -- Three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings and silver medalist April Ross won the season-opening New Orleans Open on Sunday to extend their AVP Tour winning streak to eight events.

The top-seeded Walsh Jennings and Ross beat No. 3 Jennifer Kessy and Emily Day 21-16, 22-20 in the final.

Walsh Jennings and Ross swept all five of their matches and have won 42 consecutive sets dating to August.
