The Lakers learned Wednesday just how swiftly free agency can move, and how fast optimism can dissolve into continued frustration.
Over the course of one afternoon, the Lakers watched as their top target, LaMarcus Aldridge, reportedly booted them from contention for his services, and one of their contingency options, Cleveland’s Kevin Love, decided to stay put.
It sets up a far less promising free agency period for the Lakers, who are coming off the worst season in franchise history and have won just 48 games in two years.
