Lakers' Julius Randle believes reduced weight will expand game, improve conditioning

The moment left Julius Randle giddy, prompting the Lakers forward to wake up before his alarm rang on Monday morning.

The Lakers began their summer league practices before the play in Las Vegas on Friday, which also marked Randle’s first organized practice since suffering a season-ending right leg injury in the Lakers’ first game of the 2014-15 campaign.

“I could get through it a lot better than I was last time,” said Randle, whom the Lakers selected seventh overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. “I’m more mentally prepared and physically prepared than I was last year.
