The Los Angeles Kings have signed Damir Sharipzyanov (Shuh-rip-zeye-on-ov) to a 3-year entry level contract. Earlier this summer, he was invited to the Kings development camp to get some looks. The Kings have had some interest in him for a while and finally made a deal yesterday to bring this young defenseman through their pipeline.
So who is this kid?
Sharipzyanov is a 19-year old defenseman who most recently played in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack. The Russian born left-hander put up 9 goals and 34 points in 66 games last season.
