Anze Kopitar A Finalist For Selke Trophy

On Thursday, Kings forward Anze Kopitar was named one of the three finalists for the NHL’s 2015-’16 Frank J. Selke Trophy, which is awarded annually to “the forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game.”

Boston’s Patrice Bergeron and Anaheim’s Ryan Kesler were also announced as finalists for the honor.

This marks the third consecutive year that Kopitar has been named a finalist, he has finished as the runner-up for the award the previous two years. Of his two contenders for the trophy this season, Bergeron has won it three times (2012, 2014, 2015) and Kesler once (2011).
