Julio Urias strikes out 2 in spring debut

SCOTTSDALE — Julio Urias struck out two in his one inning of work on Tuesday, though that was a relative pebble of sand in a beach full of spring training baseball. The Dodgers slugged three home runs in a 14-3 win over the Rockies at Salt River Fields.

The three-hour, 24-minute contest followed a 20-minute rain delay, but the festivities began with Urias making his 2017 spring debut on the mound. He allowed two singles and a run in his one inning of work, and struck out Carlos Gonzalez looking and Ian Desmond swinging.

Urias threw 14 pitches, 11 for strikes, then headed to the bullpen for another simulated inning of work to finish his day.
