CHICAGO – The Dodgers checked out of a hotel in New York late Sunday night and into a hotel in Chicago early Monday morning.
They still haven’t checked in to Wrigley Field.
Starting pitcher Jason Hammel and four relievers reduced the Dodgers’ offense to a whisper Monday afternoon in the Cubs’ 2-0 win before an announced crowd of 41,470 at Wrigley Field.
Hammel allowed a single to the third batter he faced, Justin Turner. The next batter, Adrian Gonzalez walked. The Dodgers did not put another runner on base the rest of the day.
They had a golden opportunity, too, when Hammel came down with a cramp in his right hamstring as he warmed up to pitch the third inning.
