Tuesday lineups: Phillies at Dodgers

LOS ANGELES -- Today marks the return to Dodger Stadium of one Chad Billingsley, the 30-year-old right-hander the Dodgers drafted in the first round a dozen years ago.

Nine years ago today, Billingsley pitched his second career game at Dodger Stadium. For a time, he was a pretty good pitcher. There was even a segment of the baseball-following population that believed he would be better than Clayton Kershaw.

Clearly, that's not the case, but Billingsley is still around, having signed with the Phillies for $1.5 million in the offseason after his three-year, $35-million contract expired. Various elbow injuries made that contract a bust and also delayed his debut for Philadelphia until May.
