PLAYA VISTA – Paul Pierce sat on stage at the Clippers’ practice facility a year ago, with hopes of being a major contributor and dreams of bringing a championship parade to the streets of Los Angeles.
One media day later, the tone was much different.
Pierce, who earlier in the day announced that he plans to retire from the NBA following the upcoming season, his 19th, joked with teammates and talked about soaking everything in on the last stop of his career before it finally wraps up someday with his enshrinement in the Hall of Fame.
