Blake Griffin Will Miss Remainder Of NBA Playoffs, Chris Paul Out Indefinitely

The hits just keep on coming for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Just one day after Chris Paul broke a boke in his shooting hand, the team announced that Blake Griffin will miss the remainder of the NBA playoffs with a quad injury.

The team also announced that Paul is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his hand.

While Griffin's MRI did not reveal any structual damage, the Clippers are electing to play it safe with their All-Star big man. Griffin partially tore his quadricep tendon in the Clippers' Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Lakers, and missed 37 games nursing that injury along with a broken hand suffered in an altercation with the team's assistant manager.

While the Clippers have not yet declared Paul out for the duration of the playoffs, the surgery on a broken metacarpal typically carries a timetable of three to six weeks, making a postseason return highly unlikely.

The Clippers are currently tied 2-2 with the Portland Trail Blazers in their first-round series. Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
