LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Branden Dawson’s best workout prior to the draft came for a team without a selection.
But as the Michigan State product watched the draft unfold with his family, seeing the first round and most of the second round pass without hearing his name, it was that team without a pick that made Dawson’s draft night memorable.
The Clippers bought the draft rights to Dawson from the Pelicans, who had the No. 56 overall selection, making Dawson the Clippers’ lone draft night selection.
“Being able to come together with them, it was amazing,” Dawson said.
