Following a rookie season that he deemed “horrible,” the Chargers running back vowed to make his mark in 2016.
Consider it done.
Gordon emerged as an every-down running back, scoring 12 touchdowns in 12 games before an unlucky play dealt him a season-ending injury in the 13th game.
And Monday, he was named to the Pro Bowl team as a replacement to injured Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gordon rushed for 10 touchdowns, ranking seventh in the NFL. He placed eighth with 76.5 rushing yards per game.
When pass-catching running back Danny Woodhead went down for the season in Week 2, Gordon took on extra duties.
