Chargers News: Chargers Respond To 49ers Stadium Debacle, Sunday Concerns?

In this Chargers news and rumors update, the San Diego Chargers don't seem too worried about the field conditions at the San Francisco 49ers' new Levi's Stadium - even with the grounds-crew rushing to put down new turf in advance of the team's preseason contest on Sunday.

According to Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com, Chargers head coach Mike McCoy has been in contact with the 49ers and has been reassured that the field will be ready to go for Sunday's 1pm PST start time.

"We take a look at every field when we go on the road," McCoy said "Players bring a number of shoes every time we go on the road. We're going to go into our normal, pregame routine of everybody walking through the field to make sure they have the right cleats on. It's no different than any other game we're playing."

Bolts linebacker Andrew Gachkar indicates that he will bring a couple of pairs of cleats to assure that he has the best footing possible. However, he's not worried about any potential problems with the turf.

"Honestly, I'm not concerned about it at all," Gachkar said. "The field will be the field. It will be ready."

"They've got to play on the same field we do."
