The Los Angeles Angels "showed some interest" in St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong at the winter meetings, reports SB Nation's Chris Cotillo.
The Angels are looking to land a left-handed hitting second baseman. Wong is exactly that, but the Cardinals appear unwilling to move him and are asking for a lot in return, per Cotillo.
Wong slashed .240/.327/.355 with seven doubles, triples and stolen bases each, and 39 runs scored this year -- numbers below his level of production in 2014 and 2015. The 26-year-old spent nearly two weeks in June with Triple-A Memphis after being optioned following third baseman Jhonny Peralta's return from the disabled list.
