Jered Weaver's early effectiveness evaporates, and the Brewers overwhelm him, Angels

MILWAUKEE – As he showed for most of April, Jered Weaver still is capable of pitching effectively and winning games.

But it’s also clear that he has little margin for error. If his command isn’t perfect – and if elements beyond his control go against him – a game can get away in a hurry.

On Monday night, Weaver threw four scoreless innings before a confluence of events resulted in seven runs against him in the Angels’ 8-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

“It’s frustrating,” Weaver said. “I hit a speed bump and couldn’t slow down.
