Final: Tyler Skaggs rebounds to pitch Angels to series win over Tigers

DETROIT – The difference between Tyler Skaggs at his best and at his worst – both versions having been evident on this trip – may be in his head.

After Skaggs pitched six innings in the Angels’ 5-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, Skaggs explained what had changed from his previous four rough starts.

“I think it’s just a mindset,” Skaggs said. “Go out and take it pitch by pitch, inning by inning. Just be aggressive and don’t try to pitch too fine.”

To that end, it’s helpful not think too much about the opponent: “Try not to look at the guys hitting.
