Final: Jered Weaver stumbles in fifth inning, Angels fall to Brewers

MILWAUKEE – A nice, tidy ballgame for Jered Weaver exploded on him in one messy inning.

The Angels veteran pitched four scoreless innings but then gave up four in the fifth inning of the Angels’ 8-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night.

Weaver would be charged with three more runs in the sixth, his ERA rising from 3.29 to 5.40 in a span of two innings.

Although the Brewers had hit a few balls hard against Weaver in the first four innings, he had wiggled out of the trouble.

In the fifth, it began with some bad luck and just got worse.
