Angels Notes: Albert Pujols sidelined by sore foot

ANAHEIM – Albert Pujols, who has been playing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot for more than a month, may finally be succumbing for the season to the discomfort.

Manager Mike Scioscia said Pujols was out of the lineup on Tuesday because his foot is “sore,” and he wasn’t sure if Pujols will play again in the season’s final week.

“It’s gotten to a point now where we don’t want to put him at risk,” Scioscia said. “We’ll hold off today and see how things go.”

The Angels play the non-contending Oakland A’s again on Wednesday, and then host the Houston Astros over the weekend.
