Final: Angels start to string a win streak together, beat Rangers, 4-1

ANAHEIM – Vinnie Pestano had just thrown the self-described worst game of his career Wednesday night. And now, here the Angels reliever was, down to 3-0 count with the bases loaded in a one-run game on Saturday night.

Pestano bore down and fired three consecutive on-the-corner fastballs to the Rangers’ Robinson Chirinos, getting the inning-ending groundout on the last one. The Angels’ offense came alive in the bottom half of the inning, posting a three-spot, and their third straight victory was on its way. The Angels ended up topping Texas, 4-1, at Angel Stadium.

Starter C.J. Wilson threw 27 pitches to get the sixth inning’s first two outs before Pestano entered.
