One of few goalkeepers to shut out Barcelona over two legs, Buffon was instrumental in Juventus’ clean sheet in the first leg. He made one superb save from Andres Iniesta, and a string of other impressive stops to prevent Barca grabbing an away goal. At Camp Nou, he kept another clean sheet, keeping the fearsome MSN front three at bay.

Returning to face former club Barcelona, Alves was part of the defence that kept a clean sheet over two legs against Messi and Co. He was superb in both matches, providing an incisive attacking threat at home and showing he remains one of the world’s best defenders at Camp Nou.
