Kentucky was able to defeat Illinois State 75-63 in a game that felt much closer than the final margin of victory.
Going into tonight’s game people thought Kentucky may have an adjustment period playing without star point guard Tyler Ulis. The Wildcat floor general sat out tonight’s Illinois State game with a hyper-extended elbow that he suffered in the previous game.
With Ulis out, Isaiah Briscoe and Jamal Murray were counted upon to not only get their own shots and carry the team, but to make their teammates better.
Early results were mixed.
Briscoe came out early being overly aggressive, turning over the ball three times before the first TV timeout.
