Hawkins Could Miss More Than 4 Weeks

After Dominique Hawkins broke a bone in his hand, UK said the player would be sidelined for 4 weeks. But it is looking like those estimates could be a little short.

Madison Central Coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. (Hawkins’ High School Basketball Coach) said Tuesday that the estimate might be changed to six weeks.

Feldhaus said, Hawkins’ mother told him the surgery went well but doctors needed three screws rather than the expected two to make the repair. And that might mean Hawkins will be out a longer period of time.

Hawkins was a backup his first two years, but came into this preseason feeling confident he would play a more prominent role, Calipari said.
