Track and Field Returns to Host Doug Raymond Invitational

KENT, Ohio- After a month-long layoff, Kent State's track and field programs will return to action as they host the Doug Raymond Invitational from the Kent State Field House on Saturday, Jan. 14. The meet begins at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw.

The Doug Raymond Invitational honors former Kent State track and field coach Doug Raymond, who led the Golden Flashes for 18 seasons (1960-1978). With Raymond at the helm, Kent State captured the program's first MAC Championship in the 1972-73 season, followed by another championship in the 1974-75 season. For his efforts, Raymond was inducted into the Kent State Athletics Varsity "K" Hall of Fame in 1998 and then was inducted into the U.
