AUSTIN, Texas — Kent State's Danniel Thomas has been named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Women's Track and Field/Cross Country First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Friday.
Thomas owns a 3.67 grade point average in Kent State's sport and recreation management graduate program after earning a degree in physical education in 2016.
The Academic All-America® selection caps a sensational 12-month period for Thomas, which began by representing Jamaica in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
