The University of Akron men’s golf team leads after Sunday’s first round at the 18-team ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. Old Dominion is the host school at the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
The Zips topped the field by two strokes with a 5-under 279 opening-round team score. Three of the Zips’ starting five recorded scores below par, and UA’s J.B. Williams is tied for the top spot on the leaderboard with Bowling Green’s Pablo Heredia Iglesias and La Salle’s Andrew Reynolds at 4-under 67.
