On the record: Kent State women’s golf team wins second consecutive tournament

The No. 13 Kent State women’s golf team finished in first place at the Henssier Financial Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Ga., for its second consecutive tournament win.

The Golden Flashes finished the three-round tournament with a 12-over 876, 1 stroke ahead of No. 24 Purdue.

Freshman Pimnipa Panthong was tournament co-champion with a 3-under 213 for her second tournament title. Wad Phaewchimplee finished tied for eighth and Karoline Stormo and Michaela Finn finished tied for 23rd.

• The University of Akron women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. Makayla Dull finished tied for 13th with a three-round score of 10-over 226, and the Zips finished 63-over 927.
