On the record: Akron swimmer Madison Myers sets conference record in 200 IM at MAC Championships

Sophomore Madison Myers (Copley) broke the Mid-American Conference record in the 200 IM on Thursday to lead the University of Akron swimming and diving team at the 2017 MAC Championships.

Myers cruised to a mark of 1:56.92 and broke the MAC record of 1:57.87 that she had set earlier in the day in preliminaries.

The Zips were in first place with a team score of 274 after Thursday’s action. Friday’s finals were not finished by deadline.

Junior Paloma Marrero Munoz finished third in the 200 IM and sophomore Sadie Fazekas finished fourth in the 50 free to lead the Zips on Thursday.
