SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Weeks after earning five All-MAC First Team honors, all five student-athletes in the Kent State University men's golf lineup have been named to the PING All-Region Team.
Currently competing at the NCAA National Championship, Josh Whelan, Ian Holt, Chase Johnson, Bjarki Petursson and Gisli Sveinbergsson were all honored for their strong play. Kent State's entire lineup ranks in the national top-200.
Whalen is completing his senior year in spectacular fashion. He currently ranks 57th in the nation and second on the team. He's recorded seven eagles on the season, which ranks 22nd in the nation, and recorded a career low round of 64 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
