Thompson streaky in Wildcat debut

Skylar Thompson wasn’t nervous, even though he was making his highly anticipated Kansas State debut, starting at quarterback for the White team in Saturday’s spring game.

“I came out today pretty comfortable,” the redshirt freshman said. “I felt I was in rhythm, making my throws on time, putting the ball where I need to put it.”

He came out strong, forging a connection with Corey Sutton early on in the first quarter, completing a 39-yard pass on the second play of the game and another to Sutton for 11 yards on the first drive.

“It was before the game started, anticipating what kind of coverage I was going to see, and I liked our matchup over there, that soft corner, and we had good timing, and we made some plays,” Thompson said.
