Bre Lewis swatted four shots Wednesday night, but her facial expression on each block told of an emotionless K-State senior.
Helping the Wildcats to a 62-49 win over UT-Arlington, the center’s stoic expression remain unchanged as she rejected Mavericks time and again. But teammate Kindred Wesemann wished she would have said something.
“Kindred told me every time I block a shot, say, ‘Welcome to K-State,’” Lewis said.
“Mr. Currie would love that,” K-State head coach Jeff Mittie added with a laugh, referring to K-State athletic director John Currie.
Lewis’ dominance in the paint didn’t come without a challenge, as the Mavericks’ 6-foot-5 center, Rebekah VanDijk, guarded her for much of the night.
