KU basketball set for another marquee showdown with Kentucky

The top two winningest programs in college basketball are now set up for a rubber match of sorts.

Kansas and Kentucky will square off for a third consecutive season on Jan. 28, 2017, as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge, the conferences announced Tuesday. The contest will take place at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky.

The Jayhawks and Wildcats, who have 2,186 and 2,205 all-time victories, respectively, have traded wins over the last two seasons. Kentucky thumped KU 72-40 two seasons ago at the Champions Classic in Indianapolis, while the Jayhawks edged the Wildcats 90-84 in overtime last year on Jan.
