Kansas State blanks Missouri State 35-0 in weather-shortened game

MANHATTAN — The beginning was a bit unusual. The end was, too.

But when Kansas State was on the field Saturdaynight, the game went as expected.

Torrential rain and lightning delayed the scheduled kickoff between K-State and Missouri State for 55 minutes Saturday night at Snyder Family Stadium. When the teams were finally able to start, the coin flip provided a surprise.

The Wildcats won the flip and, going against the norm, coach Bill Snyder elected to receive the kickoff rather than defer. Perhaps he wanted to get an early score on the board with the threat of another delay in the air.
