Ron Freeman To Transfer From Kansas State Basketball Team

Kansas State Wildcats guard Ron Freeman has announced he is transferring from K-State and joining Northwest Florida State College.

Freeman only played in 11 games during his freshman season, averaging 0.6 points per game and transferred in search of more playing time. Head coach Bruce Weber had discussed the possibility of redshirting the season with Freeman, but Freeman rejected the notion.

As for other transfers, Weber said he doesn't anticipate anyone else leaving in search of playing time.

“I think everyone else is fine.” Weber said, via the Wichita Eagle. “They are all looking forward to next season.”

JUCO prospect Freddie McSwain appears to be the favorite to get Freeman's scholarship after visiting K-State this past weekend. He would be the fifth member on the incoming freshman class, joining James Love, Xavier Sneed, Cartier Diarra and Brian Patrick.
