Two Wildcats break national records at 88th Kansas Relays

K-State track and field made the best of their time at the 88th Kansas Relays over the weekend in Lawrence. The team concluded the three-day event Friday with 10 first-place finishes to go along with a number of personal-best marks.

The women’s team, which saw 18 athletes finish in the top five, secured a second-place finish as a group with 172 points, 22 points behind the Jayhawks.

On the women’s side, junior thrower Sara Savatovic had a record-breaking throw on her way to her second-straight medal in the hammer throw competition. The No. 3 hammer thrower in Division I topped out at 66.
