The Washburn men’s golf team is in third place after the first round of the MIAA Golf Championships on Monday at Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence.
Jordan Hecker led Washburn with a 6-over 78. He is currently tied for sixth place.
HOUSTON ABSENT IN CHIEFS OFFSEASON PROGRAM:The Kansas City Chiefs reported for the start of their offseason program on Monday.
The most notable absence was All-Pro linebacker Justin Houston, who was given the franchise tag after a record-setting sack season. Houston still has not signed his tender as the Chiefs and his representatives try to reach an agreement on a long-term deal.
