No plans to rest KU basketball stars down stretch, Bill Self says

LAWRENCE — With another Big 12 regular-season championship in the books, the players on the Kansas basketball team can finally exhale.

Just don’t expect them to take a breather.

The No. 3-ranked Jayhawks (25-3, 13-2 Big 12) have just three conference games remaining before the postseason, beginning with a 5 p.m. Saturday tilt against Texas at Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Including the Longhorns (10-18, 4-11), the Jayhawks’ three remaining opponents have a combined 15-30 record in conference play. If KU takes care of business down the stretch, a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament would appear to be a cinch.
