Kansas House of Representatives honors retired KU broadcaster, declares 'Bob Davis Day'

Recently retired Kansas football and men's basketball broadcaster Bob Davis was honored with his own day Thursday at the Kansas Capitol.

The Kansas House of Representatives honored Davis, a Topeka native and voice of the Jayhawks since 1984, by declaring April 28, 2016 as "Bob Davis Day." Davis' recognition was part of a ceremony honoring 150 years of KU.

Davis was introduced by Sen. Ralph Ostemeyer and Kansas House Speaker Ray Merrick.

"It was really kind of a fun day," Davis said in a KU news release. "It was a little different. Of course I couldn't talk on the floor, unless you're a member.
