Halftime report: Iowa State 17, Kansas 0

AMES, Iowa

As the Kansas offense struggled for a third straight week, the Iowa State Cyclones clutched control and built a double-digit cushion.

The Kansas Jayhawks, winless and brow-beaten, trailed Iowa State 17-0 at halftime on Saturday afternoon here inside a nearly full Jack Trice Stadium. The Cyclones tacked on a touchdown in the final minute before halftime, moving 73 yards in 1:19 and pushing the Jayhawks one half closer to their fourth straight loss to begin this season.

The Jayhawks finished the half with 119 total yards. Junior quarterback Montell Cozart was nine of 13 for 62 yards passing, while true freshman Ryan Willis logged a series in the final minutes of the first quarter.
